With an impressive 83% success rate, SWIFT therapy is currently regarded as one of the most effective wart treatment options available.
SWIFT is an advanced medical microwave technology designed to effectively treat warts, verrucae, and papillomas.
With an impressive 83% success rate, SWIFT therapy has proven to be one of the most effective treatments available for stubborn warts.
During treatment, a precisely focused microwave signal is delivered into the skin at a controlled depth, targeting only the affected tissue.
This process triggers a biological response known as Heat Shock, which causes infected skin cells to release specific proteins into the bloodstream. These proteins alert the immune system to the presence of the virus, prompting the body to naturally recognize and eliminate the infection.
Microwaves are a form of non-ionising radiation, meaning they cannot damage the DNA of living tissue. SWIFT uses very low energy levels that simply cause water molecules within skin cells to vibrate, generating heat in a highly controlled and targeted way.
Data based on post-market surveillance conducted in July 2017 among trained SWIFT practitioners.
The rapid heating of the wart to a temperature of 42–45ºC may cause brief discomfort; however, this sensation typically lasts less than a second. This temperature range is only a few degrees warmer than a hot bath and does not cause any tissue damage or scarring.
Each patient’s tolerance to discomfort can vary; however, most people do not require any pain relief during SWIFT treatment.
Our experienced Podiatrist will discuss the procedure in detail beforehand, including the expected level of discomfort, to ensure every patient feels informed and comfortable before treatment begins.
To assist with pain management, the podiatrist may use the “Buzzy Bee” cold/vibration distraction tool.
The number of treatments required depends on how your body responds to therapy. Most patients need 3–4 sessions, typically spaced four weeks apart or less.
There are no dressings required, no downtime, and no self-care needed after treatment.
Your Podiatrist will discuss your personalised treatment plan and guide you through each step of the process.
With only a few exceptions, most people with skin lesions are suitable candidates for SWIFT treatment.
Before beginning, your Podiatrist will carry out a thorough assessment to determine your suitability and provide personalised advice.
Warts are a common infection of the outer layers of the skin caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). They can spread easily — both to other parts of the body and from person to person — and are often difficult to eliminate, as the virus is skilled at evading the body’s immune system.
SWIFT is an advanced medical microwave technology that has been shown to be highly effective in treating warts, verrucae, and papillomas. With an impressive 83% success rate, SWIFT therapy is recognised as one of the most effective wart treatments currently available.
During treatment, a focused microwave signal is delivered into the skin at a controlled depth, ensuring that only the wart tissue is targeted. This process triggers a response known as Heat Shock, which causes infected cells to release specific proteins into the bloodstream. These proteins alert
the immune system to the presence of the virus, helping your body to recognise and naturally fight off the infection.
